FBI in Peace and War

Greetings folks -- we have three volunteers to start posting once the new cyber-digs are ready for CC. What's so amazing about this series is how long it ran, but like Counterspy, never seems to get "longevity respect" from collectors. Sure, it's a formulaic show, but what wasn't? What I like about it is the grizzled OTR veterans who were on the show. It was a New York show, and NY OTR was more of a "job" for actors. In Hollywood, it tended to be treated as more of an "art", somewhat the influence of the motion picture industry. Though NY was home to Broadway, radio did not get much respect (I once posted an article in the Casey thread by Staats Cotsworth where he defended radio acting to his theater peers). Sure, that's an oversimplification but it explains a lot about the radio cultures of the coasts, and why this series never seemed to be highly regarded.

I thought it would be a good idea to list some preliminaries in a post before we get started at this.

FIRST, these are the most common mis-named files
Stag Line = Double Play
Langdon Hope = Realistic Touch
Honor Student = Jail Bait
Dumb Cluck (which is a real show from 4/12/51 but not circulating) = Dumb Luck 9/22/57

There have been many attempts to purchase the recording, but JH can't find it in his collection, though he knows he has it.... somewhere.... does anyone have this show?

FOURTH, these are the files I have -- I do need some upgrades to 128kps of some of them -- but most of them are in good sound at a nice encode rate. Many of them are network and AFRS pairs. Back when I started collecting there were only about 18 shows circulating, and EVERYONE had the same 12-show reel of AFRS shows.

It's probably in his Aunt Sally's Hope Chest where he placed it for safekeeping along with a bunch of other 111s during a tornado.

Has anyone checked with Jerry Haendiges Recently on the availability of this episode?
He may be able to access it now.
