The Crippler

Here is a macabre rarity, a March of Dimes drama called "The Crippler" starring Raymond Massey in a role he admits at the end of the broadcast was "the most unpleasant role I've ever played."  The broadcast is apparently dated January 3, 1948.  Here is the download link:

That was such an odd show! Definitely playing the fear factor up. It's interesting that they list the treatments that would help and say "one day soon, very soon we'll have a cure". It wasn't until 1955 that the vaccine was in widespread use, 7 years after this program aired. Thanks again for the share, Gary.
