The Unadulterated Truth Empty The Unadulterated Truth

Well Folks, here it comes, honestly and directly.

I've been a moderator over at The Cobalt Club for the last few years and have been involved there since shortly after the site came into being way back in the mid 90's. I've been quietly watching over the place for the past few months from the shadows as time permitted. I haven't heard from Seamus since November of last year. And he hadn't posted on the site in all that time. This worries me more about his well being, than as overseer of The Cobalt Club. He wouldn't just abandon ship. He'd at least have the the decency to let us know that he was folding up shop, and tried to give the place an honorable sendoff. Some of the old timers here have always been good friends and have mean't a lot to Seamus. And you know he wouldn't just abandon you without some kind of notice. Again, this makes me worry about his well being more than anything else. Our old pal Mars and a couple of others have also been unable to contact him.

Niles had drifted away even earlier. He hasn't posted at The Cobalt Club, at OTRPlus or another site he frequented for nearly a year. I hope that he's doing well. But I worry about him as well.

As for this board, I'll keep it open for the group, so that you can continue to share OTR and in hope that Seamus will come charging back in and once more raise the Cobalt Club from the ashes, to rise to even more glorious heights in the future. The only real shortcoming here, is the lack of storage space (none at all) and the ads. But the storage can be handled by using off site storage sites such as Mediafire and the ads keep the site free, which means it keeps it alive.

As has been pointed out elsewhere, I have very limited free time. This due to working full time, taking care of a wife who has some rather serious long term medical issues and raising an eight year old grandson (This last being more pleasure than work). But I'd like very much for the Cobalt Club to continue. Even if it has to be in this limited form. And who knows what could grow from here.

But the choice belongs to the group. The Cobalt Club has never been just an OTR sharing site. It's always been about the members. The choices are:

1) Use this space as long as anyone is interested in staying together and hope that some day soon, the old site can be resurrected. (I'll need at least one moderator if this is the choice... and I hope that it is.)

2) Throw one last blast of a party for the gang and then just turn out the lights and walk away into the sunset.

The choice is yours. But if just two members want to try to carry on, I'll keep both this site and the "Lifeboat" site open for you to use.

Your Ol' Pal,

I am in Space... I am also slammed at work but can look and see what I can put together for a site I think I took a backup of the last site and have it somewhere. But I may try and flip up something entirely new and crazy and link it to storage so we can share files or integrate drop box so we can link our drop box accounts for sharing. Who knows just throwing stuff out there. It almost seems in the new streaming world that sharing whole files is outdated though I do love that format of sharing.

SEAMUS! Bless your little beating Irish heart. I'm sure we all understand and empathize with the "work slammage"--life has a nasty way of getting in the way of enjoying ourselves at times.

But it's still good to know you're about and well. Space and the rest of us Cobaltians are doing our best to continue your Grand Tradition. Rather like "We'll always have Paris. . . ."

Many thanks for your update. Keep in touch.
Jeff cheers

Just sittin' here with a silly grin on my face. Can't really find the words to express how happy I am.
