About Copyright Material
Folk's, we're still getting organized here, so I haven't set down a complete rules page yet. But there are two rules which are an absolute must.
1) Be respectful of one another.
This one I don't expect to be much of an issue. But I had to say it. Most of this group have been friends for years and truly share a love of Old Time Radio. That's the primary reason I've gone through so much to keep it alive.
2) COPYRIGHT WILL BE RESPECTED!!!
I will not risk being sued. My wife would probably kill me and quite honestly I can't afford it. So, the copyright restrictions are the same here, as they have always been at The Cobalt Club.
A) No shows created after 1964.
B) No shows from the BBC.
C) No shows from those held by Conde Nast.
D) No shows which are known or believed to be under copyright.
A hopefully complete list will come later but the major shows are:
The Shadow
The Lone Ranger
Doc Savage
The Third Man
The Shadow of Fu Manchu
and I can't remember the rest right now, so feel free to complete this list if you're so inclined.

Thank's Mars, I'd forgotten that one. And if anyone wants to add to the known list, please feel free to add them here. I know there are more, but the old mind has gotten a bit fuzzy. Or maybe it's fuzzier.

Re: About Copyright Material
Here's a "Philadelphia Lawyer" question... Since none of the shows posted are actually hosted on the site, is there a problem at all? Is it just direct links that are a problem? If someone says "you can get The Shadow at archive.org" is that a violation? Not to nitpick, just want to know the limits. ;-D

Well, isn't that a slippery little question? Let think about it and I'll get back to you.

Re: About Copyright Material
That's a question for the IP Police actually. As longs as you don;'t have on the site per se, I think we're good. However you recommed where something CAN be found you may be consisted an enabler i.e. an accomplice. Best to leave those to PM between members and off the "live" board/site. You never know when Harry Alan Towers is watching -it's like "The Million Eyes of Sumuru"(by Saz Rohmer - a Harry Alan Towers Production starring Shirley Easton -now available on blu-ray). Now that's called covering your rudder....

Re: About Copyright Material
That reminds me--*The Shadow of Fu Manchu* is another show that used to get us into hot water. So we should stay clear of that one too. I'd prefer to stay on the safe side and not invoke any wrath; archive.org is big enough to hire lawyers if litigation becomes an issue from the Hit-And-Run Shysters.

You are correct. And it's been edited into the list.
