October 11, 1945. Walter Reuther, vice president of the United Automobile Workers, CIO, and George P. Romney, general manager of the Automobile manufacturers' assn, who have clashed frequently over the conference table in labor-management disputes, carry on their debate when they discuss the question, "Should Industry Grant Labor's Demand for a Thirty Percent Wage Increase?" Reuther speaks for the affirmative; Romney for the negative, and George V. Denny, Jr., presides as moderator over this verbal duel originating in Town Hall, N.Y.

June 22, 1948, Are You Planning to Grow Old Successfully?
The program originates from Bound Brook, New Jersey; shortened to a half-hour, due to the Republican National convention. Senator Pepper and Marion Folsom want an expansion of Social Security coverage. Mr. Kenny and Daniel Poling are against expansion, believing in "rugged individualism." Mr. Lawton is supposed to question the panel, but takes almost three minutes to ask his first question. George Lawton (moderator, author of, "How to Grow Old Successfully"), Claude Pepper (Senator, Florida), Marion Folsom (treasurer of Eastman Kodak), Eugene Kenny (former assistant treasurer of Socony-Vacuum, who is against pensions of all kinds), Daniel Poling (president of the World Christian Endeavor Union, father of one of the famous "Four Chaplains")
