You don't need to re-up, you copied the wrong link. Your link is to dropbox /preview/D24 AU.zip with nothing in the link to tell anyone it's your dropbox, so the link doesn't go anywhere.

dbf wrote:Thanks - believe it or not, I've never come across it before! So we're at 25 of 52, I think...
25 of 53 including the audition show (assuming it wasn't re-used as s1e1).
Here's an Australian show I've been meaning to post...
Time To Tell - "The Space Man" (1961)
Low quality because the cassette was very quiet. I removed a lot of hiss but didn't dare remove any more. At 8:08 the tape was turned over so there's a few seconds missing.

Actually it's better than I thought it was. I transferred that one last week and hadn't listened to it properly. I noticed that at 1:46 one second had been recorded over, probably by someone clumsily pressing the record button instead of stop, it happened sometimes. I've repaired it using the missing word from another copy, and also tidied up the needle jumping at the end of the episode. (I couldn't conjur up the missing words obviously, but I removed the repeated portions.)
So anyone who already downloaded it might like to download the fixed version, I replaced the link in the original post.

Ordering recordings from the Grace Gibson site was easy for CDs when I did it with very fast shipping, but they now offer download service. The way the Australian dollar and US are currently aligned, their AUS$45 sets are US$32. https://gracegibsonradio.com/
Are their CDs actually CD-ROMs of mp3s?? (I know some are)...in that case, I would just order the download version to save shipping. They have 40 Australian Dragnets recently released... very curious how Joe Friday sounds with an Australian actor...
Here is an example of the Australian version of Dragnet for anyone interested:

Here's the first 5 episodes (that's all I have) of a 52-episode series Strange Tales From Down Under (1961)
Written by Bill Beatty, Narrated by James Condon.
They're short stories, about 3 or 4 minutes each. Episode 2 has a cut at the end due to it being the end of the tape.

Re: Some Australian shows....
Sorry for delay in answering, airlanes! Yes, the Gibson CDs are of mp3s, so downloading gets you the same files.
