Folks,

What TV are you watching?

I am really enjoying the new Project Blue Book show. Love the set design and setting in the 1950's love the UFO stuff and some semblance of the actual case files. Very well done.

Discovery.. Loving Captain Christopher Pike dare I say I like him better than Kirk. Just loving the writing. The episode "If Memory Serves" is one the best written and acted Treks episodes of any flavour of Trek.

Kids are Alright.. the best sitcom on Tv right now. Simple love that show. The Partridge Family episode was so funny. Brilliant cast and great subject matter.

Endeavour .. Adventures of young inspector morse very well done.

Murdoch Mysteries just love this show set in the early 1909 very well done show.

Young Sheldon.. prefer this to Big Bang.

Car and Bike shows: Find it, Fix it, Drive it, American Chopper, Fast and Loud, Changing Gears, Car SOS, Wheeler Dealers.

Oldies shows I am watching Space 1999, Randall and Hopkirk Deceased, UFO, Simon and Simon, Nightrider, Airwolf, and The Persuaders. All great shows.

Many more thats my starter list so far....

Seamus,

Did not see "Sherlock" with Cumberbatch and Freeman in your list. Perhaps the series is too old for what you are watching now?

How about Doctor Who with Jodi Whittaker?
I like her and the ensemble grew on me but I would like to see more focus on her in the next season in 2020.
She could be as good as Matt Smith or David Tennant but the writing has to step up for her to compete.

How about the Marvelous Mrs. Maizel?
Although the 2nd season was a little flat compared to the first.

Just askin...

Bill,

I am watching Doctor Who Jodi is great the writing has been plain dismal. No sense to it at all. Chibnall is an awful writer of Sci-Fi he should stick to Broadchurch. Love the new Tardis even though they have shown 3 seconds of it. One good episode. Rosa Parks.

Sherlock season 1 and 2 were good. 3 and 4 were not so good with Moffatt doing way too much with this and Doctor Who. Both suffered. Season 4 was convoluted nonsense in my opinion.

Mrs. Maizel I watched a couple of episodes and it was funny. Never went back got lost in the shuffle.

I find the new Sabrina the Teenage Witch reboot on Netflix to be very dark and enjoyable. Not at all the comedy of the old show.

The Expanse is another show I binged on the new season was excellent I really enjoy its old pulpy Sci-Fi feel. Very Friedrich Pohl much of the spice of Gateway.

Enjoyed Man in the High Castle as well more old school SciFi

American Gods Season 1 was really good. Season 2 they changed the show runner and the vibe is now off. Still watching but its not as good.

I really like the Flash that is very comic like in its story and Grant Gustin is very good a the Flash. Way better than that off kilter Flash from the Justice League movie.

Just started Season 3 of Hinterland on Netflix -- very engrossing, always want to see the next episode

Catching up on NYPD Blue from the beginning -- in Season 3 now -- series is so well done, a little ahead of its time.

Also enjoying Death in Paradise -- if you liked light mystery like Monk on USA Network many years ago, it's just as enjoyable if not more.

Good Evening

I was watching Murdock Mysteries until the season ended, but have also been watching Midsomer Mysteries, & Death in Paradise.

Unfortunately, they are all finished for the season.
Wait till next year.

Best regards

I don't do a lot of TV entertainment any more. Mostly it's documentaries and movies. Leaning heavily toward classic movies. I no longer have traditional cable. Instead I have Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime and my current favorite, the Philo streaming service. These, along with various free Roku and Android streaming apps keep my couch potato time interesting.

I'll probably drop at least one paid streaming service, probably Netflix. It just seems that there's less and less content that interests me. It's more like a single database, which rotates in part, between the services. And new, quality content seems to be drying up. Probably because the content creators are all trying to cash in on the paid streaming trend directly.

All of that being said, I've watched Bringing Up Baby, The Philadelphia Story, Casablanca, The Quiet Man and The Scarlet Pimpernel in the past week. Every night, my grandson and I watch a couple of he anime series Bleach. And I'm slowly working my way through 130 total episodes, divided between The Universe, Space's Deepest Secrets and How the Universe Works, which I have DVR'd on Philo.

My Queue on the Tubi free streaming app is eclectic, to say the least. Destroy All Monsters, Death Race 2000, Bill & Teds Excellent Adventure, A Farewell to Arms (Gary Cooper & Helen Hayes), Rodger's and Hammerstein's Cinderella (1965), Dwight G. Eisenhower's The Tue Glory and Topper Returns.

Then there's my "Just wanna have a classic Sci-Fi/Monster Movie Good Time" free streaming Roku app... Sci-Fi Favorite Classics. It gives me quite a few Universal horror movies, four Starman movies, a few Tobor movies, the original Godzilla, King Kong, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Day the Earth Stood Still and the list of classic monster and Sci-Fi goodies just goes on and on. Plus, it adds Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe and my all time favorite serial Crash Corigan and the Undersea Kingdom.

There are other free streaming apps, which are worth a mention. But this post is getting a bit long winded, so I'll leave it right there for now. Maybe I'll add a service review or two over in The Screening room at some point.

We saw a fascinating documentary "Three Identical Strangers" -- it's still on Hulu

Anxious for the next season of Bosch, starting April 19 on Amazon Prime

I like Bosch his love of jazz and the way he navigates the grey areas of crime is brilliant. Titus Welliver is brilliant in everything he does.

More shows I like. Glitch and Australian show about people who come back from the dead. Not like returned. Unique take on it. Another Aussie show Tidelands about Mermaids but you never see mermaids up close just hints of them. The story is all the on land struggles and power grabs of the main characters. Magicians is candy show ie. it rots your brain but I watch in anyway as its so absurd. A school of Magicians and stuff that happens is best description. Also the Order which is so close to Magicians in premise. Think Magicians fighting werewolves. So close its even filmed on the same sets. Dirk Gentleys Holistic Detective agency was so weird in season 2 it lost most of its viewers and they cancelled it. I loved it.

Slaps forehead several times.

Hey everyone, cannot believe that I forgot about this site.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/writersroom/scripts

When you get a chance, check it out.

Not sure who turned me on to it.

Wouldn't it be funny if it were Space, Seamus or someone else from this group?

Anyway, hope you enjoy.
