This is Monitor's last hour on its premiere day -- Sunday, June 12, 1955, from 11-12:00 p.m. ET. With Morgan Beatty and Walter Kiernan doing News on the Hour; a live big-band remote from Birdland in New York City; Host Ben Grauer introducing Henry Morgan, who reviews that evening's TV fare; a live update from Detroit, where General Motors contract talks were approaching a deadline; and a live big-band remote from the Blue Note in Chicago. Featuring live musical remotes from the Embers in New York City and from the Hollywood Palladium. It also features live reports from San Quentin Prison in California, from an airliner speeding across the Atlantic to Europe and from the National Weather Service. "Miss Monitor" gives her unforgettable temperature reports, and Roger Price has a humorous commentary.

Monitor, December 3, 1961. This was one of the first “Date Specials” that premiered on Monitor after Frank McGee became Sunday night Monitor’s host in 1961. It looked back on that date in 1945 and includes a rare recording of Mahatma Gandhi’s voice. 8:36.

Thanks for these, Bobby. I'm sure I got these from you before and I managed to pick up one show, from June 19, 1955. I have two other shows listed as Monitor (they even have the logo embedded in the file) from December 3, 1961 and December 10, 1961, both eight plus minutes long that are remembrances of December 3, 1945 and December 10, 1945. Listening to them, they sound like transcription inserts. Do you know what they are?
