Truly a man among men (though he'd probably prefer being a man among women. . . .). Heaps of thanks again, Greybelt.

Re: Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar
Here's today's recording. There is already an AFRTS version in circulation, but this one is in better sound with different announcements, obviously a separate release by them.

Actually, the Carr reference in the episode title is to Ed Carr,
who is responsible for a series of deliberately set fires that is
plaguing lumber yards in the Sarasota, Florida area.
Ed Carr also killed his brother, Arnold.
Signing of for now,

Re: Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar
This recording is better sound, but the AFRS music is clipped compared to the recording in circulation. We need the show, not the music, much as we respect the role AFRS recordings have in saving this series.

Re: Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar
Tom-In-Ohio: Thanks so much for your sentiments -- "pay back" -- how?
For those who want to do something $$-wise, the best thing is to join the OTRR purchasing group. They have been very generous in funding transcription purchases in cooperation with a group of other collectors, often footing half of the bill with the other ten or so collectors sharing the other half, even though most are already OTRR purchasing group members.
For those who can't muster the $5 a month, there are always research projects that can be done online to help document the various series. There are many many little research projects that need assistance. What JB did on the TiYFBI thread with the pictures is an obvious one. But there are many others, especially if you have access to newspaper data bases online. Some of those require subscriptions, but I know of a couple that do not require subscriptions and can send those along in a private message.
The role of collectors new to the hobby is really important. A lot of the veteran collectors miss some of the subtle stuff because they're not looking at things with fresh eyes. Remember, it was new collector Shadowsmom who found the 2x a week Roma Wine recording inconsistencies in Suspense. Her "discovery" was something that West Coast collectors took for granted and I get comments from some of them that it was right in front of them for decades and it never registered on them that it was a peculiar part of the Suspense history.
And then there's the cloud space issue. What otrhead is doing on the TiYFBI thread is very generous. But if others opened free cloud accounts and hosted some of the final sets of shows for Cobaltia, that would also be a helpful contribution. That would make it easier for regular posters of programs by relieving their own cloud accounts of space pressures.
These are just some of the ideas -- but knowing that folks are enjoying the recordings is the best payback one could get.
