Bob Benchley is back on this next one, and in fine form as well, with Linda, Mel Blanc & Arthur Treacher.

The star power is amped up as the war in Europe moves into its final month... Bob Hope is joined by Bette Davis and abetted by more performances by Mel Torme and the Mel-tones:

And here we have Monty Wooley as Editor, the chap I always thought of as English but who wasn't, and his sidekick Bill Bendix as Society Editor. (I wonder who thought that one up?)

Hope's back in an outing that sounds like it was recorded in an oil drum... upgrades welcome as always. We grow a trifle morose at that idea that this set simply cannot be improved upon... but we find muffled cheer in Connie Haines' rendition of the immortal "Hubba Hubba Hoy":

It's amateur night out on the roadways, my friends... stay home and fire up some OTR. You'll be glad you did in the morning!

I second my friend's emotion - stay safe tonight folks.

We continue with the first appearance of Danny Kaye on GIJ as he takes over the editor's job in this next one.

Is THAT what that was! I thought my cooking had triggered digestive mishaps on the other side of the bed.

On this first day of a new decade, we bring you Bing Crosby with a lovely cheery self-esteem booster to start the next ten years off right... "Aren't You Glad You're You". Of course, if you indulged in two or three or four too many last night, you may wish to hold off listening to that sort of musical sentiment until tomorrow's sunup brings a greater sense of promise:

Wow, weren't you the early bird today. Hope the worms were good.

We played Balderdash with some friends until the wee smalls so needed some recovery time this morning. You also missed putting up a pic of Chili Williams so I'll do that, plus a pic of Marie 'the body' McDonald who bothers Jack Carson and Co on my show.

Happy New Year everyone!

I need to give your last post a listen, CDM... for me, "My Sweet Juanita" has never been anything but a line from Little Feat's "Fat Man In The Bathtub". Which itself sounds rather like the title of a Forties novelty tune. Sequel to "Mister Five By Five"? Anyway..........

Here's the Perfesser back after a bit of a long layoff:

Well, you know what they say, whoever they are, "what goes around comes around" and Mr. Five By Five certainly does that!

Next we have the Blondell Sisters, with Joan taking the lead and Captain Kidd. Now whatever happened to Johnny Kidd and the Pirates?

Kyser's back again... and we lead off with the Mel-tones and "Jeepers Creepers" again.  Other contributors include "Clifton Finnegan", Martha O'Driscoll and Connie Haines, who sings seventy years ahead of time that favorite tune of gallivanting governor Mark Sanford, "My Argentina Love".  Wink

And now we hit #100, still without a fill or an upgrade.
This shows features Mr X himself as editor in chief. The first tune on this is the King Sisters singing the unforgettable Ya-Ta-Ta Ya-Ta-Ta Ya-Ta-Ta.

I've been going through my shows and don't see this one listed. It may just be a misdated or misnumbered show. I have it as #45 5-26-44 Kay Kyser, first song Bugle Call Rag. It's only at 32 kbps.
NOT A NEW SHOW DELETE IT IF YOU DOWNLOADED IT.

Thanks lasombra, I think this might be a mis-numbered #28. Will confirm later after listening through.

Moving into the next hundred Journals, this one features two short guys -- Alan Ladd and Alvino Rey -- flanking lanky Lucille Ball:
