Yesterday's episode was the last of the FLAC versions I have. After today there will be just 3 more episodes to finish out the series.

Here is today's episode. This one has the opening slightly clipped and the last 2 or 3 minute of the episode is missing. The story itself is complete.

Here is today's episode. It features Gale Storm (of My Little Margie fame) as guest star. It is also a plug for her new movie "It Happened On Fifth Avenue". The episode itself is titled "Fifth Avenue". The middle and end commercial are missing. As a result it runs just over 27 minutes. This appears to be the way the original ET was recorded. Mr. Goldin lists his as being the same way.

This is an MP3 file @ 128 kbps It is one of the better sounding episodes of the series.

We have only the last half of the episode on this next one. The date for this broadcast 47-12-15 cannot be accurate as I have not been able to find it in any logs. It was sustaining over the ABC network and during this time in the series George Petrie was starring as Gregory Hood. Notice at the end of the episode the announcer says to stay tuned for Inner Sanctum in 1 minute. The only time Inner Sanctum was on ABC was during 1950-1951.

Inner Sanctum originated on CBS starting in 1941 and after being on ABC for 1950-51 it came back to CBS for one more season. Using "JJ's Radio Logs" I have only been able to find Gregory Hood and Inner Sanctum together on the same day during August and September of 1950 and never with Inner Sanctum following right after Gregory Hood in the Los Angeles newspaper radio log. Inner Sanctum is always listed as an hour after Gregory Hood. Also, the last log listing, both newspaper radio logs and OTR logs for Gregory Hood are for 08-31-50.

So we have a bit of a puzzle here. If anyone wants to take the time and look into this, that would be great as I will be busy trying to sell more Glo-Coat....I mean working Laughing  In the meantime i am going to put the date on it as just 1950 for now.
Your feedback on this matter is welcome.

So i found out that the two series, Gregory Hood and Inner Sanctum are listed together in the New York Times radio log. The show was on Thursday evenings. Gregory Hood at 8:00 followed by Inner Sanctum at 8:30. But this only appears to be during August of 1950. After that there is no listing that I can find for Gregory Hood in any of the newspaper radio logs or OTR logs. So the last episode appears to be on August 31. So it looks like the episode date has to be from August 1950 but I still don't know from what day in August. Possible dates are 8/3, 8/10, 8/17, 8/24 and 8/31, but which one?
You may wish to change your file date to August 1950.

Your welcome folks! I want to thank dbf, bojim1, lasombra and artatoldotr for joining in to help make this a better and more complete sounding series. You know, there were approximately 183 episodes of this series broadcast and yet we only have 16 1/2 episodes that survive as far as we know. The series ran from 06-03-46 through 08-31-50.

Tomorrow we will rap it up with the final episode that I have.

Thanks for providing that Art. That is the episode i was planning to upload tomorrow. It is out of sequence because until today I thought that the episode i posted today titled "The Over Praised Season" was from 47-12-15 but it turned out to be from July or August of 1950.
Anyways i may as well go ahead and post my version now and you can all choose which one you like best. The encode i have is a little higher @ 128 kbps and was provided by Bojim1.

I hope you got some better sounding episodes out of this, I know I did as well as several that are more complete and I thank you all for that.

P.S. Did anyone notice that there is no mention in this episode of who starred as Gregory Hood? Of course to many of us It Is the unmistakable voice of Jackson Beck!

Good Morning Harlow

The only reason I posted my copy of The Carnival of Death was because in the thread to date it had always referred to only 16 1/2 episodes surviving and this was would have been the 17 1/2 th episode.

I didn't realize that there was still your episode to come.

Great job on upgrading the series everyone.

Harlow, I have Carnival of Death at 128 as well. I wanted to compare my copy to yours but you've reposted  The Over Praised Season again instead.

Thanks Harlow, yours is identical to mine. Here's a partial show. I don't have a title for it. The date 5-30-48 is on the file. I have no idea if this is correct. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Thanks for this lasombra. I have no idea what the title is but the date cannot be right. According to newspaper radio logs the show was not on the air on 05-28-48. The logs (New York Times) do show that Gregory Hood was on the air on 05-25-48

From listening to it the only information I can come up with is this:
It's after the 1946-47 Petri Wines season. It was broadcast on Mutual and is a sustaining program (No Sponsor). Some of the voices I recognize are Howard McNear, David Ellis and Paul Frees. Of course, Elliott Lewis as Gregory Hood.

Not that it's any help but I recognize Ian Martin's voice in this episode as well.
The only way I know of to find a date for this episode is if someone has access to the script. I know 14 of them were published in a book but i don't know the title.

Thanks for posting these. It has been a while since I've heard a Gregory Hood episode.

As for the undated episode above, perhaps it could be the 1-13-47 episode "Nob Hill." The plot seems to fit the description listed in the Digital Deli log:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Of course, that log has some problems and so I don't entirely trust it, but that's my best guess for now.
