Blueberry Hill. March 24, 1943. CBS net. An audition program, Hollywood origination. This program had all the makings of a civilian, "Jubilee." CBS passed on what sounded like an great series, they should have grabbed it! The first tune is, "My, My, My, Ain't That Something!" The comedy character of "Shadrach" might be portrayed by Benny Carter. The Charioteers do a great, "Brother Bill." Gin is referred to as, "Nubian Pepsi Cola." Mantan and Hattie do a comedy routine (Hattie misreads a line). The announcer mentions at the end of the recording that it's "almost two o'clock in the morning." I wonder what the show would have sounded like in prime time. Ernest Whitman (m.c.), Hattie McDaniel, Mantan Moreland, Benny Carter and His Orchestra, The Charioteers, The Loumel Morgan Trio, Savannah Churchill, The Blueberry Hill Singers. 32:12. Audio condition: Excellent. Complete.

A little country -Blue Grass Roy. Sponser Hamlin's Wizard Oil
Blue Grass Roy was born about 1901 or so, on a farm in Christian County, not far distant from Hopkinsville, Kentucky. When he was just a tiny kid, he began to sing, gradually learning the old mountain ballads and folk songs of his home and surrounding area. Unbeknownst to him that many years later, with these same songs, he was to sing his way into untold thousands of hearts by way of something that hadn't even been invented yet, the radio.

Bluey and Curley is an Australian newspaper comic strip written by the Australian artist, caricaturist, and cartoonist Alex Gurney. The strip featured a pair of soldiers, "Bluey" (named for his red hair), the Great War veteran who had re-enlisted in the second A.I.F., and Curley (named for his extremely curly hair), the new recruit to the A.I.F. The strip was widely appreciated for the good-humoured way it depicted the Australian "diggers" and their "mateship", as well as for its realistic use of Australian idiom of the day.-WikiPedia

Bob Sterling, American Ranger. March 19, 1935. "The Headless Horseman". A spectacular juvenile narrative. Bob's a two-fisted hero riding the western plains with his two sidekicks. Panhandler is a geezer-type, Pancho's a fat-Mexican type. Bob saves a baby from being carried off by an eagle! A strange program, even to the closing credit referring to the program as a telecast, but it's definitely a radio program. The date is subject to correction. It has been also been dated as a 1947 or 1948 video audition program. Eugene Conrad (producer), Charles Barrow (director). 25 1/2 minutes. Audio condition: Very good to excellent. Complete.
This was listed but not available in the OTTR Library
