Federal Housing Administration. 1935. Federal Housing Administration syndication, Dyer Process Recording. Radio and Film Methods transcription. Trouble in paradise? Is the honeymoon over already? Two newlyweds are suprised with a new home of their own. They're able to afford the house with the "Federal Housing Plan." A few hundred dollars down and $25 a monh takes care of the mortgage. The plan was originated by a "thoughtful government." Several other dramatic vignettes drive home the point that new housing is available NOW. The FHA began in 1934, this program sounds as if it were recorded shortly thereafter, but the date is only approximate. 22:04. Audio Condition: Excellent. Complete.
Federal Housing Administration. 1935. Program #6. Federal Housing Administration syndication, Dyer Process Recording. Radio and Film Methods transcription. The date is approximate. The program title above is exactly as it is printed on the transcription label. The theme song is unimaginatively, "Home! Sweet Home!" The program promotes, "The Modern Way To Home Ownership," wherein the government backs home loans issued by local banks. The music is played by The U.S. Marine Band, and sounds like pre-recorded (and poorly reproduced) music.

The Feenamint National Amateur Night. February 23, 1935. Mutual net, WINS, CKLW, WNAC, WGN, WLW. WINS, New York aircheck. Feenamint, Dillard's Aspergum (part of one commercial deleted). The 61st show of the series, but the first show broadcast over a special (un-named) network consisting of WINS, CKLW, WNAC, WGN, WLW (500,000 watts strong, starting on this station "next week"), other Mutual affiliates. The program originates from the Majestic Theatre in New York City. The cast includes, "Miss Brazil.". Ray Perkins (host), Arnold Johnson and His Orchestra, The Roche String Quartet, Jimmy Jackson, Joanne Jackson (singer), Goode and Beard (duo-pianists), Milton Wiser (harmonica), Lillian Turner (a 230-pound blues singer).

Well, here's a mystery. I have a show called Front Page Features with Knox Manning. It has the same opening as Wildcatt44's Feature Page above. Goldin does not list this one under any of the titles. Which might be the correct title for this series? The date is 10-22-45:

It sounds like Goldin has the name wrong.
At least in Jack French's opinion

Jack French 7/29/2000

He had his own show, "Knox Manning Reports", and was also the narrator on these network programs: "Behind the Scenes", "Get That Story", "Front Page Features", and "So The Story Goes".
Mostly he was on CBS shows, including the announcer on "I Was There" and also "Hollywood Preview"

Thanks for the corrections. We missed you yesterday.
