I love this show! I wish there were more of them!
From Goldin: The Big Beat. May 10, 1956. KNX, Los Angeles. Burgermeister beer. A program of "sixty minutes of the fastest moving rock and roll." The first tune is, "Straight Life." The band plays, "Hi Diddle Diddle," "Kokomo" and "Three O'Clock In The Morning." Tony Williams of "The Platters" is interviewed before the group sings, "The Great Pretender" and "The Magic Touch." "King Porter" and His Orchestra are not to be confused with "The King Porter Stomp," introduced by Jelly Roll Morton and made famous by Benny Goodman. Just to "muddy the waters," the band plays, "The King Porter Stomp" as their closing theme. Adding to the confusion, Alan Freed had a TV show with an identical format, also known as, "The Big Beat.". Bill Henry (m.c.), King Porter and His Burgie Band, Jack McVea, The Platters, Tony Williams, Gordon T. Hughes (producer, director), Jimmy Matthews (? announcer). 37:00, incomplete.

V.D. Radio Project. 1948. U.S. Public Health Service syndication, WSM, Nashville origination. "Stars In Her Eyes". A program that is part of the "V.D. Radio Project." The show is a program-long ballad that's pure radio. A very well-done mixture of story and song. The story of a farm girl named Lena, who was bored working in a city factory. She falls in love, and then, well, she finds that she has syphilis. Produced by Columbia University. The date above is the date the program was recorded. The program was intended to conclude with a live public service announcement. Hank Williams, Jack Specht (director).
