Chevrolet Program: Musical Moments

Well, I know that recordings from this show do exist, because I have two of them. Unfortunately, I'm not sure of the dates, but at least in one of them the announcer talks about the new 1938 Chevrolet. The only thing more I can say is that the names of the songs are "Hands Across the Table," and "Mama, I Wanna Make Music." Oh, yes, the singer is Annette Hanshaw. Does anyone know of any other recordings that are out there?

I should have mentioned that I tried to underline "this," but that command isn't working. EDIT: I should have said that her performances on this show were in 1937 and 1938.

I have 16 of the shows, Niku, though none of them bears a date.  I haven't listened to them recently, but I know none of them duplicates your copies.  Could you upload yours? I can upload mine and you can go crazy.

i just noticed your request. I think the easiest way to comply with it is to copy and paste a letter I sent on the subject. It contains what you've requested but more than that.

I can’t find the two links that were sent to me, but lines 1, 2, 5 and 6 of link “A” below contain the two songs that Annette Hanshaw sang on the "Chevrolet Musical Moments show.” Amazingly enough, though, although link (B) contains 111 Chevrolet shows, none of them contain any songs sung by Miss Hanshaw. (At least I couldn’t find them.)

Unfortunately for me, the singer I am interested in was in  none of the shows you so kindly posted. However, some good came out of it. For one thing, I now know what numbers to avoid in other  collections of the same show. Secondly, since not knowing the contents of shows you possess makes them virtually valueless, the information I am about to post will change that situation for you. One more thing: I was unable to determine the date of any of the shows. Perhaps that can be done by correlating this information with newspaper accounts, but the most I can do here is to say that in almost all of them, up to #127, the announcer made reference to the “new 1936 Chevrolet.

I couldn’t understand some of the titles. If you know what they are, let me know, and I’ll correct them.

Thanks, but I've already ordered two CDs from this site that cover the period of time in which Miss Hanshaw is most likely to have appeared on Chevrolet Musical Moments, and I expect to receive them within a few days. I hope I have better luck this time. Other purchases have gained me nothing. However, I do have to say that this site is really special. Unfortunately, no one has yet found what I'm looking for, but it wasn't for lack of trying. Thanks, everyone.

Sometimes I have to wonder what's wrong with me. You sent me this fabulous collection of Chevrolet Musical Memories shows, and what did I do? Nothing. What did I say? Nothing Well, let me try to make amends. I greatly appreciate your generosity in sharing these files with me, and when I collate your lists with two others I have, I'll really have something. The only problem with that goal is that it may be beyond me. The amount of material is so large that I have to wonder how I'll ever be able to digest it all. Fortunately for me, my initial efforts will concentrate  on the period when Annette Hanshaw performed on this show. That's challenge enough for now, and it may be that using newspaper archives might be a faster way to determine which shows she was on. Using these logs of all Chevrolet Musical Memories has certainly not been that productive. So far, I've only found two, and it wasn't me that found them. Someone I don't even remember found them and sent them to me. Well, anyway, thanks again.
