Books and Authors Luncheon. March 18, 1952. WNYC, New York City. Irita Van Doren (host).

This B&A Luncheon features the following authors speaking their recently published books: Joseph Wood Krutch's The Desert Year; Pat Frank's Hold back the Night; and Bloody Precedent, by Fleur Cowles. Krutch energetically discusses his role as nature writer and the wonders of the American Southwest. Pat Frank reviews his Korean War novel and talks about the interesting aspects of focusing on a retreat. And Cowles denounces the regime of Eva Perón and her puppet husband Juan, recounting her visit with despot, a white paper about human rights abuses of the Perón regime written by dissenting voice in congress, and Cowles' unplanned resulting book.
