All newspaper listings show Margaret Truman appearing on The Big Show on October 21, 1951, not October 14, 1951, so I believe the 51-10-14 episode is the one that does not exist and the Margaret Truman episode posted above is actually 51-10-21.

That's correct. Jimmy Durante and Ethel Merman were on the October 14 broadcast.

Spike Jones Broadcasts to The Philippines. October 20, 1944. Nimitz and MacArthur have landed on Luzon. Spike speaks to the people of the Philippines by recording. The date above is the date MacArthur and Nimitz arrived in the Phippines (Spike qualifies that by saying, "In the past few days"). The actual date of this recording is not known. Spike introduces recordings made by the band: "Hotcha Cornya," "Clink, Clink, Another Drink," "Little Beau Peep Has Lost Her Jeep" and "Siam.". Spike Jones. 11:45. Audio Condition: Excellent. Complete.

Thank you! Yes, that is the episode I was looking for, when they interview Anne Shelton. I was in contact with Anne Shelton's niece a while ago and have been trying to find some of her radio appearances when she visited the United States. Thank you so much!

Does anyone have decent sounding Mel Blanc shows? It seems like al the sources for the series are the same and the show sounds like it should have pretty good sound, but the digitization was of such a low bitrate that it sounds pretty bad. Help?

Here is a link to my FLAC file holdings of The Mel Blanc Show. There are 21 episodes, which is about half of the entire run of the series.

By the way, I noticed that the Mel Blanc episodes are only 24 minutes long. I checked with the Radiogoldindex and he shows his as being the same with the notation on each of his episode descriptions as being "complete". I checked with JJ's Radio Logs website to see if the shows perhaps were preceded by, or followed by, 5 minutes of news, but I couldn't find any information to support that.
Perhaps someone more knowledgeable than i could fill us in?

O. K. so i answered my own question. It turns out upon further searching, that the Mel Blanc Show was followed by 5 minutes of news according to the New York Times radio log for 10-22-1946. Embarassed
