My Big Band Folder
Here's a link to my "Big Band" folder on Mediafire.

Dig through and see if there's anything you might like. Most of these shows were gathered from The Cobalt Club some time back.

Here's a Paul Whiteman just for the heck of it.

Space, it seems it is possible to attach a file to posts, except that the max file allowed is 0Mb. Were you aware of that? Did you turn off the facility? etc etc?
And Jeff (it had to be you), why is this forum (topic) called the Whale Room?

Yes, I'm aware of but it's for image hosting only and the site only allows 20 megs of total storage space. I thought about trying a rename experiment but with so little storage it's just not worth it. And if we got caught trying to scam the system, we'd probably lose this site.

You're Welcome Sir, and feel free to ask such questions. It's still a learning experience for me right now. I'd hate to think I missed a detail which could help to make the site more usable.

Ah, I love California Melodies, with that announcer who sounds like the snootiest headwaiter in the world!
Thank you.

Re: The Jump Jivin' Whale Room
CDM--
The short story of the Whale Room was answered by Nightkey. Here's the long story (abbreviated):
I decided to start up the thread which offered stray remotes that had no home of their own. Like the old cues ("Now, live from the Aragon Ballroom. . ."), I wanted to create a place in "Downtown Melville, high atop of Pequod Hotel, overlooking the Ishmael Fisheries. Now we take you to the Jump Jivin' Whale Room where you'll be welcomed by your Mistress with the Mostest Hey Barbarba ReBop. . . ."
From there another member (Binkie) and I populated the Room with atmosphere and "regulars" as well as folks like Harley--who annually performed a daredevil jump over the Melville water tower) as we "got thee to a punnery." The L-7 Ranch (the country-western version of the Whale Room, just a hop skip and a junket down the road a piece in Outer Melville) was erected shortly after the Whale Room opened for business. (For the pun-impaired, the "L-7" is slang for "square." Hold your forefingers and thumbs in "L" and "7" positions together. . . .)
Aren't you sad you asked?
Jeff

"Logic", now there's a slippery term if I ever heard one! Do we have any clue, as to the whereabout's of Scout Binkie?

Scout Binkie drifted away a while ago, but I think I still have his email address, so I'll try to wrassle him back.
