Re: Mr. District Attorney
Today in 1939, Mr. District Attorney was heard for the first time on NBC. It was originally a 15 minute nightly program, but changed in June to a half hour weekly program. It aired until 1952.

Thanks for posting these. I've heard a few of the shows over the years but I can see that I have been missing out. Time to add them to my list of shows to listen to while doing boring paperwork.

Re: Mr. District Attorney
Thanks again to all of you involved with posting and preparing these. I have really enjoyed listening to them. I've been doing some additional research on the David Brian Mr. DA series, and I have more to share.
First, I found only two episode logs of the David Brian series online: Jerry H's log and the OTRR log. In both logs, there are several episodes with the title unknown. Using newspaper listings (which I know can still be unreliable), I've filled in the gaps with the titles of the missing episodes. My primary sources have been the Wisconsin State Journal (starting Jan. 6, 1955 on station WISC), and the Akron Beacon Journal (starting Oct. 10, 1954 on station WHKK). A few others I consulted included The Atlanta Constitution and The Miami News. The ordering of all the other episodes matched up exactly with the numbering of the existing radio logs, and so I think the titles I've filled in are probably accurate.
A few notes:
1. Episode 4 is listed as "The John Doe Murder Case," and the title logs currently give for that episode "The 15 Year Old Trail" does not show up in the newspaper listings. However, "The John Doe Murder Case" does match up with the plot of the episode.
2. I was unable to find a title for Episode 8, although I do have a brief plot description.
3. As I brought up in a previous post, I have found no evidence that the David Brian series aired before Fall 1954. My additional research only seems to confirm this. I have no idea where the dates came from for current radio logs, but I believe the logs listing the David Brian episodes as being from 1952-1953 are inaccurate. I have some additional evidence to share regarding this later. (Stay tuned for that).
So, with all that being said, here is a more complete radio log of the David Brian series:
1 Case of the Hijack Killer
2 Case of the Supermarket Killer
3 Case of the Man on the Ledge
4 The John Doe Murder Case (AKA Case of the 15 Year Old Trail)
5 Case of the Joy Ride Murder
6 Case of the Murderous Hitchhiker
7 The Telephone Tenants
8 Title Unknown [lie detector proves suspect’s innocence]
9 The Man in the Death House
10 The Bookmatch Bookie
11 Case of the Staircase Killer
12 Case of the Charity Killer
13 Case of the Hit and Run Killer
14 Case of the Desert Killer
15 Case of the Missing Corpse
16 Case of the Bank Killer
17 Case of the Knifing in the Park
18 Case of the Hungry Hobo
19 The Man Who Confessed
20 The Hot Rod Killer
21 The Vanishing Runner
22 The Murder Syndicate
23 Case of the Lady Gamblers
24 Case of the Blood Harvest
25 Case of the Motorcycle Club Killer
26 Case of the Man with the Gold Teeth
27 Case of Death by Adoption
28 Case of the Cop Killer
29 Case of the Blackmail Murder
30 Case of the Frying Pan Murder
31 Case of the Murderous Junkman
32 Case of the Lover's Lane Killing
33 Case of the Dancing Killer
34 The Hidden Money Killer
35 Case of the Dead Reporter
36 Case of the Wounded Killer
37 Case of the Murderous Good Samaritans
38 Case of the Silent Killer
39 Case of the Murder by Amateurs
40 Case of the Assassin in the Dark
41 Case of the Park Murders
42 Case of the Moving Van Killers
43 Case of the Bridal Path Murders
44 Case of the Canned Death
45 Case of the Preview Murder
46 Case of the Country Club Murder
47 Case of the Perfect Alibi
48 Case of the Hungry Killer

51 Case of the Living Dead Man
52 Case of the Pyromaniac Murder

Re: Mr. District Attorney
I think my favorite lost episode was this one, cited in the Ghemrats De Bebo Picaynune Register:
Mr. District Attorney. April 31, 1955. (Commercials edited). NBC. "The Case Of The Poisoned Restauranteur." Hot spot night club owner Mill Towne is discovered dead late one night after trying a new dish served up by his chef Parsley Sage. It turns out Sage's wife Rosemary was having an affair with Mill, so the chef cooked up a cold dish of revenge with a spicy sriracha sauce on a bed of thyme. It's a strange case leading David to conclude, "It's a hot thyme in the old Towne tonight." The show ends with David sitting down to a special Honeymooners Salad--lettuce alone with no dressing.
I wish someone would unearth that show.
Jeff

Ghemrats:
I remember that episode very well. I think it was sponsored by Alka-Seltzer. The writer of the episode was Hart Byrne, and the director was Reed Phlucks.
mjnunes84:
Your research is so greatly appreciated. I have kept looking for 1952/1953 references to the Brian series and have not been able to locate a single one of them.
I seem to remember the dates that are usually attached to these programs are attributed to the Washington Post. But I can't find any documentation about those references either!!
Some of these "title unknown" episodes may never have had titles. The mentioning of the title inside the episodes before or after the mid-show break is so haphazard it drives anyone trying to document this series crazy!
This is a marvelous contribution! Thanks so very very much!

I loved the direction of Reed Phlucks. Â According to an old friend of mine, Emmett Brown, who worked for a time at the Blue Network, Reed had a reputation for being exceedingly helpful to the actors. He was nicknamed Phlucks Capacitor, due to his helpful nature and capacity for working on actors' timing. (He was also rumored to have an acidic sense of humours.)
Great memories.

Re: Mr. District Attorney
I met Emmett Brown once a while ago. We were both waiting for the midnight train. He admired my wrist watch. The Rolex Just In Time edition. As I went to buy a ticket for the train he said "where we're going you don't need a ticket" needless to say I needed to get back to the future on that train. I was going to Georgia to meet a man named Lewis to discuss the news.
