Toebig, I don't know what happened but 37 & 38 were due to be posted two days ago, Wednesday, but you didn't post anything that day. (The second time I became concerned about you!) I wonder what else didn't get posted. There's no Captain Midnight #202 either.

To all of my friends out there, I am being scheduled for another angiogram sometime within the next two weeks. The other times this happened I was in the hospital the entire day 6am to about 6pm and then on light duty for a week. I'll post one day before at night in addition to the morning post. Then hopefully be home for the next days posting. I'll keep you informed when the posting will be different.

All best, Tom. Before I had my "baby" heart attack (as my cardiologist called it) the last thing I remember was hearing the phrase, "Now I know I have a heart, for I can feel it breaking."

Thanks pnussbaum, this will be my sixth angiogram. Five different cardiologists and none of them have been able to explain why my heart rate elevates for no apparent reason. My heart function is on the high end of normal. Some mornings I'll wake up and my heart is beating at 125-140 beats per minute. The medication they have prescribed will bring the heart rate down, but it takes a while. And they all tell me that it is not life threatening. I've asked all of them "If you don't know what causes it, how can you say it's not life threatening?" I get no comment from them at that. I don't worry about it because it's all in my Lord's hands. His will be done.

I have a friend who's heart has stopped randomly for up to 20-30 seconds at a time since he was in his 40's. He thought it was hilarious because the last time it happened, he was at the doctor's for a physical and the doctor was listening with his stethoscope when it started. He had to laugh when he saw the doctor's eyes open wide in shock and he started to swear under his breath.

I think I'd be more concerned with that condition than my rapid heart rate.

For once I'm enjoying a clean house. Now I better get out of here before the neighbors come home.

Elevated heart rate for "no reason" ??
What OTR programs were you listening to at the time? You may want to be listening to Ma Perkins more and Escape less  Those cardiologists may want to see your OTR Listening Diary!

But seriously, we know so much more about the heart these last decades, and the imaging of its action is now so incredible... and it's still such a mystery.

I'm sure everything will go fine Tom. If you can survive being on a sub, this will probably be easy. After five others, it must be a little boring by now.
