Another first timer in this one as Edgar Bergen and his sidekick Charlie McCarthy step into the editor role and create their usual havoc along the way. This one has bunches of music with Paula Kelly & the Modernaires, Hildegarde, Roy Rogers and old blue eyes leading the charge.

Bob Hope returns... and somehow "Lili Marlene" is provided NOT be the delectable Dietrich, but by some entity creatively named the Alan Roth Singers.  (SIGH)

I think I'll sneak her in anyway.  It's Bob's show, but it's MY post, and I can't think the GIs would object:

Between Space posting his fantasies and yourself, I don't know which way to turn. Don't forget to give the same treatment to Chili Williams, Marilyn Maxwell and Marie 'The Body' McDonald when it's their turn in the bubble!

Meantime, Bing is back up, poking fun at Jimmy Durante's nose and Frank Sinatra's everything in this next one.

Well, despite the fact that it's been 15 months since the launch of G.I. Journal, November brings us a Special Anniversary Edition in which Linda Darnell moves up in the world from her regular reporter's chair to orchestrate events.  Not sure how well this one is circulating.  Anyway, with all due respect to CDM's pin-up requests, Ms. Darnell here certainly deserves equal treatment with Marlene...

You're on a roll, aren't you. Nothing wrong with Linda either.
I hate to stick Bob Benchley in the middle of your run, but here he is as a GI J rookie.

Hey, Bob's kinda cute too if you're into what we used to call "roly-poly".

Next up we have Jack Haley again, with Ann Rutherford and Connie Haines helping out. No time for cheesecake, gotta go make some meatballs for tomorrow night's festivities!

And here's another 'rookie' for GIJ, but with experience galore on the stage, radio and in the movies. Here is Orson Welles being, well, Orson Welles.

Fun line-up on this one... Bob Hope is joined by Dotty Lamour and the Andrews assemblage, and Louella Parsons comes looking for a job on the "paper":

Second Mike's sentiments... Happy/Merry Everything, everyone.

In which Fibber McGee and Molly not only get to hobnob with Frank Sinatra but must confusingly contend with Arthur Q. Bryan NOT being Doc Gamble:

And they are followed by Jack Haley & Co, with Jane Wyman keeping everyone in their place.

Hope everyone's enjoying a mellow post-holiday "Life of Riley" glow today as we bring you Bill Bendix's turn in the chair, oddly/perfectly accompanied by Arthur Treacher:

I wish you all a merry 2nd day of Christmas, or Boxing Day if you prefer.

Burns and Allen are back leading the charge on this one.

Happy boxing day or day of recovery from way too much food. Did anyone go out and brave the rabid shoppers? We stayed home and watched buzzfeed supernatural a hilarious show.

Thread related I enjoyed William Bendix.

Two days removed and finally starting to feel like myself again. Although that's nothing to write home about either!

The inimitable Groucho plays host here to Mel Torme and the Mel-Tones, Lucille Ball, and indulges in some jungle jollies with Johnny Weissmuller:

No Seamus, I stay away from all stores and malls at this time of year. I used to love going but not any more. The fun aspect has all gone with the consumerism that has replaced it I'm afraid.

It would be quite right not to hear at least one show featuring the old groaner during Christmas. Bing was my dad's favourite so I suppose some of it rubbed off.

Here he is with Mel Blanc, Allen Jenkins and Mmmmmmmmmmarilyn Maxwell.

The eighty-seventh installment brings the great Jack Benny to the fore, along with Paulette Goddard, Mel Blanc, Arthur Treachers, and the way-before-Welk King Sisters are along to handle the warbling work:
