Re: Miscellaneous Drawer
Just a quick note to BobbyP and to Nightkey as well... I really appreciate the way you've been offering up these oddities and one-offs! Gives the forum a real feeling of "geez, wonder what we'll find out there today?" Having a lot of fun with this -- thanks!

Ditto from me as well. There definitely is an air of expectation as I log into the Cobalt Club. What does Greybelt, BobbyP, and Kschiever too have under their hats today. Thank you very much. - Tom

Treasury Star Parade - Hitler's Birthday Celebrations Live From Times Square, 1942.04.20
Note that this is comedy rather than something more sinister as the title might suggest!
Pre-empting that evenings scheduled programme. Note that the date is 20th April 1942 - not 1943. I'm saying this because I can only find one mention of the show on the net and they get the date wrong. Yes 1943 would have been Hitler's 54th birthday but the guy says "This is the year we begin to finish it - the 54th year of Hitlers infamous life." - the 54th year of his life begins with his 53rd birthday. Note also the comment about the Mayor helping Eleanor Roosevelt hang curtains in her new apartment. She moved into her 29 Washington Square apartment in March 1942.
"Space Station", WMIE Miami Florida, 1959.06.13
Host Norb Garrity talks about UFO's, both recent news and older news.

Thanks Egg Crisis for the two shows, especially the one from 1959. I was born that year and enjoy listening to anything from 1959. - Tom

Thanks, and Merry Christmas!
Looking for any dates I found these...
(It doesn't let me view the actual page but the info is in the OCR'd bit below.)
That's quite a range, 1929-1941, and no way of knowing if they were new episodes each time or rebroadcasts of the same handful of episodes.
6:30-6:43pm, Friday, December 20, 1929

Re: Miscellaneous Drawer
With the death of Herb Ellis last Wednesday I thought you might enjoy hearing him as announcer on KGO's The Good Word. The banter on this show between hosts and contestants would never be approved by the Me Too crowd. Everyone is just having fun! From August 6, 1947 here's program 4 in the series.

Re: Miscellaneous Drawer
Back in the day of collecting on open reel I always enjoyed finding the obscure or odd show. Here's one from the time Sears could afford to sponsor programs, Savings Sue and Husband Jack 45-06-18.

Thank you for these obscure old radio shows. Looking forward to Savings Sue. Sounds like a radio version of today's infomercials. - Tom

Re: Miscellaneous Drawer
A sci-fi serial set on a submarine. This seems to be the only episode available. Someone suggested this was a pilot and none more were made, but that's incorrect... I can't find an entry for 11th Feb, but WEAF ran the series for 17 weeks on Saturdays from 7th June 1941 to 27th Sept 1941.
