Ann of the Airlanes

Ann is one of those Juvenile Series that I had kicking around for years. Low quality, hard to hear, what I could hear was a bit confusing. I never bothered to listen to it.

Recently I received an upgraded file for this series. It was when I tried to integrate it into my files that I soon realized what I had were ALL mis-identified. It was the same for the Ann files at the Archive and OTRR Library. Luckily, the Goldin site had a listing with episode numbers and descriptions. I used this to identify what I had.

One problem was that whoever made up the titles being used often used ones that could easily be applied to several episodes....Like "Jack Lands Plane" He did that a lot.

Anyway as I identified each episode, I did a few other things like: Got rid of the useless stereo track, raised the volume, reduced some of the background noise, removed many of the louder clicks and pops and retitled most of the episodes. Titles are now a bit more relevant without giving away too much of the plot. I suppose I could have fiddled with the KBS and sampling rate s but I didn't see the point.  Actually with fairly little work on my part, the sound is pretty good as it is.

I also learned that regular cast members included John Gibson and young (about 20 or so) Gerald Mohr. The basic plot is that Ann is giving up her nursing job to become an airline hostess. Somehow she gets mixed up with airplane theft, diamond smugglers and government agents.

Digi Deli says there were a total of 65 episodes.  Goldin lists 50 of them.  I have 28.   On the off chance you might have some shows that I don't,  I will show a few words of the announcers lead-in for each program. Also I re-organized the RadioGoldin listing to put them into episode number order. Using both will help confirm if you have a fill or a mis-identified file.

I listened to them a few years ago but the sound of yours is a much better quality. Thanks a lot for doing this.
