Re: The Aldrich Family
Thanks, Bob!
Coincidentally, yesterday I was finally able to conclusively date an Aldrich episode that has been making the rounds with several wrong alternate identifications. I believe it commonly circulates as "Legal Problems", with dates of either 1943-03-11 or 1944-03-16. In actuality it should be dated 1942-02-26. Here is an incredibly well detailed clip from the Shreveport, LA Times for that date, followed by a link to the recording in a mediocre encode:

Re: The Aldrich Family
Since we are on the subject of shows that have incorrect dates or no known dates, does anyone know the date for the episode "Cleaning the Furnace"? I sounds like it's from around 1940, because Henry's Friend is Toby, just a little bit before Jackie Kelk joined the cast as Homer. Any ideas?

I've got a date of 1940-11-07 on that one. The newspaper reviews read, "Henry shovels coal, father burns," and "Henry contracts to fire furnaces."

1943-03-11 should be the episode sometimes circulating as "Warmest Day in March" or similar. Some plot summaries from the press:
Lima, OH News:
The Aldrich Family gets in a tangle on account of the weather and Henry goes picnicking while his sister Mary plans a sleighride Thursday (WEAF, 8:30 p. m. EWT). Lawyer Sam Aldrich, father of the family, is caught midway in the dilemma by an attempt at forecasting temperatures and is rewarded with a cold in the head.
Wisconsin State Journal:
Father's weather forecast results in Henry going picnicking while Mary plans a sleigh ride.

Homer's Surprise Party is 1946-10-03: "Henry Aldrich tangles the reins when he tries to steer pal Homer to a surprise party. Homer's premature disappointment at having no fanfare made about his birthday turns him into a gloomy lad indeed. What he doesn't know - and Henry does - is that there's a surprise party in store for him at the Aldrich house."
I haven't found a date for the graffiti episode yet.

I don't believe those are in general circulation among collectors.
