The Steve Lawrence Show

One of the singers I've always enjoyed listening to is Steve Lawrence.  I was sorry to learn that he was recently diagnosed with the early stages of Alzheimers, the same cruel disease that plagued my father for the last ten years of his life.  

In late 1958, Steve was drafted into the Army. During his two-year hitch, the U.S. Army Recruiting service made use of Steve's talents by sponsoring a weekly 15-minute radio show. Lawrence was able to lure a number of his friends and connections to the microphone on behalf of the Army recruiting Service. So, in tribute to Steve here are seven hard to find examples of this 1959-60 series.  The six flac files are all derived from original discs in my collection.  The single mp3 I found on Youtube.

It has been a long time since I've updated this post.  I now have 34 episodes of The Steve Lawrence Show.  All are derived from original discs.  The files are all in flac format.  Here is the updated link:

thanks airlanes for the update of this wonderful shows of steve lawrence and his various guests. i wonder were i was at the time of the original post because i don´t find it in my archive; and it sounds so interesting!

Lasombra, thanks for the update.  I can't even venture an explanation.  I guess two links are better than one

I may have just stumbled upon the explanation by accident myself. In going to download the two new shows you added to the link, I accidently went back up to the very first post in this thread. I don't know from how many years ago that link was, but it said link deleted by owner. I quickly realized my mistake and came down to the more recent post link - the new shows were there.
