This is a home recording and has been circulating in recent years with encoding defects. It's been the only version of this episode that is available. Now it's from the original home recording, and it's as good as it can be until a network or AFRTS copy surfaces.

Home recordings are a large part of what was saved from Suspense, Gunsmoke, and Johnny Dollar from the late 1950s and early 1960s. It's because these early collectors traded their collections that the episodes survived the twists and turns of personal lives, and their financial ability to buy recorders and recording tape, that we have these recordings today.

Thanks again to many people who know of this Suspense project who have been sincerely interested in the research and have been extraordinarily generous in sharing their recordings. Many of these upcoming episodes are direct from transcriptions. The sound for some of the shows to be posted in these next weeks will be exceptional compared to what has been circulating. It's amazing what a difference that makes in the enjoyment of the programs.

There is still more work to be done. The AFRS version of 2/4/44 "The Sisters" of this Roma run is listed in RadioGoldindex and a recording has not been located yet. If you have a pre-2004 digital Suspense collection of any kind, your checking for this show would be greatly appreciated, as for any of the other missing versions noted in the spreadsheet.
