This one should be dated 56-03-20. The Academy Awards announcement at the beginning is the giveaway.

Re: Sharing Shows from my collection
While listening to episode 33 of Voyage of the Scarlett Queen, I heard them announce Roddy McDowall as one of the voices. I had no idea he was even around before he became more well known in the 60s and 70's, let alone working in radio. He is playing a 14 year old and sounds good considering is 19 at the time.
Interestingly enough, there is no listing of his radio work on his wikipedia page but I did find this link. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] which lists a bunch of radio shows hew was in but not the Scarlett Queen episode.

Well folks, these four episodes of General Store are the last in my collection. Any additions or upgrades will be appreciated. I'm looking for suggestions as to which series to post next. Let me know.

Re: Sharing Shows from my collection
There is a show about a female reporter called "Adventures of Jane Arden" done in 1938-39. I've only ever heard one episode so it is unlikely you will have more but since you asked for suggestions, I thought I would see if you had any.
Captain Midnight is also fun.

I'm sorry to see the end of General Store. I see you list a show titled Man on the Farm. I've never heard one of those. Would you please post one? As for new series, how about Blue Beetle if they are in nice sound. Thanks toebig. Here is today's Lights Out 12-08-42 [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Re: Sharing Shows from my collection
It's Saturday evening and these are the shows for Sunday. I always seem to run short of time Sunday mornings getting ready for church. So you get these a bit early.
My Captain Midnight run starts with this episode and goes through epi 258. Then I have 15-20 odd episodes. Let me know if you want me to post those Gordon.
The sound quality on the Blue Beetle gets better a few episodes in lasombra and here is one episode of Man On The Farm. Let me know if you want them.
Fell off a 50 foot ladder today. Thank GOD I was on the first step.
ENJOY!

A word about "Man on the Farm"
Until 6 or 7 years ago, I'd never been on a farm. As far as I can recall, I don't believe I've even been closer than 15 or 20 feet to a live chicken (probably at a State Fair somewhere). Despite this I somehow came to really enjoying this show.
Because it's sponsored by a chicken feed company most of the program is about chickens and chicken breeders. Full of sort of interesting, although not personally useful information.
It is recorded at the Quaker Oats Research farm northwest of Chicago. Not a remote area but you can imagine that most visitors to Illinois would not include this region in their itinerary. As a consequence the audience members are primarily locals and they are in fact the real stars of the show. After a while you can start to recognize some of their voices so you can imagine that for some, a visit to the show was a weekly event.
The premise is that listeners from all over the US send in questions covering just about any subject but often seem to be about assorted living creatures. Questions are put to the audience for what they think the answer might be. Questions like:
How Do You Pronounce Coyote
Does A Clam Swim Or Walk
Do Goats Really eat tin cans
questions can be about anything:
Are You Satisfied With Your Name
Should Single Men Over 30 Pay A Bachelor Tax
How Long Can A Person Sleep Without Being Called Lazy
It's all in fun, and as far as the audience goes, unscripted. You might want to FF through the chicken stuff, but opinions of the audience are often entertaining.

Those Captain Midnight shows would be awesome. For some reason, those kids shows are one of the automatic things I listen to while doing paperwork. Thank you again.
I remember listening to Blue Beetle some years ago when I was fairly new to the hobby. Cheesy would be a kind description of some of those episodes. I think I may have to listen again but as I recall, I wasn't very impressed with the acting compared to shows like the Shadow or Green Hornet.
