I'm happy to hear that Carolyn is feeling better Tom. I imagine that this is one of the best Christmas presents you both can have this year. I hope the day is wonderful for both of you.

While listening to this show, I heard that the writer was Alfred Bester, who I assumed was an SF author I remembered reading many years ago.

After looking him up on Wikipedia, I found that Bester and Rolly Goulko married in 1936. Rolly Bester was a Broadway, radio and television actress, originating the role of Lois Lane on the radio program The Adventures of Superman.  What a weird coincidence. He also won the first ever Hugo award for best SF novel in the 50's as well as doing many other radio scripts,

After four years in the comics industry, in 1946 Bester turned his attention to radio scripts, after wife Rolly (a busy radio actress) told him that the show Nick Carter, Master Detective was looking for story submissions. Over the next few years, Bester wrote for Nick Carter, as well as The Shadow, Charlie Chan, The New Adventures of Nero Wolfe and other shows. He later wrote for The CBS Radio Mystery Theater.

I love the rabbit holes that OTR leads me down occasionally.

Hope you all stay healthy and have a great 2022.

Whenever someone says 92 years ago or 100 years, I start to think 1800s because that's when it was when I was a kid. 100 years ago is now only 1922.

Because of the transfer efforts related to the Hehn and Kelez-Falk collections that OTRR helped acquire, some series are getting nice upgrades. One of the series is the short-lived 1953 series Stroke of Fate. There are TWO episodes we are trying to find in good enough shape and possibly in lossless format that we can put through a cleanup process and be include them in the set. These are the two files that remain to be found in workable sound to get a complete set:

531220 Submarine Warfare (America's First Secret Weapon)
and
531227 Norman Conquest of England
If you're not familiar with the series, one of the better summaries about it is this newspaper clipping...

The Wikipedia page for the program is well-done in detailing the historical events that the episodes offer speculative outcomes. That page is [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Does anyone have those two episodes?
