The kids keep laughing about my memory. They won't be laughing at Christmas when there's no eggs under the tree.

The Saint 50-08-06 The Corpse Said Ouch

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

A young schoolboy was having a hard time pronouncing the letter "R" and all the other kids were, of course, teasing him about it.
To help him out, the teacher gave him a sentence to practice at home: "Robert gave Richard a rap in the ribs for roasting the rabbit so rare." In class a few days later, the teacher asked the boy to recite the sentence out loud.
The boy nervously eyed his classmates - many of them already laughing at him - then replied, "Bob gave Dick a poke in the side because the bunny wasn't cooked enough."

I just wanted to say thanks again for all the posts and shares here. While my life is great now, these make it even better and I certainly appreciate being able to listen to and save them. I think I'm starting to run out of kid's shows to request from Tom. I think the only big ones left might be Terry and the Pirates or Poll Parot (with Captain Silver) but I suspect there are only spotty episodes for these from what I've seen.

In any case, I just wanted to express my gratitude and hope that you all have a great Christmas season.

I have a bumper sticker that says "Honk if you think I'm sexy", then I wait at a green light until I feel better about myself.

BTW I have posted all of my Jungle Jim episodes, so if you have any fills, please post them.

Thanks for the info guys. It's funny that while I never grew up with any of these shows, I really enjoy the continuous storylines of the kids shows way more than the episodic versions, like the 30 minute Superman, for example. I think my earliest TV memories were shows like Huckleberry Hound, Yogi Bear, Johnny Quest, etc. but I did tend to buy used comics later on so perhaps they sparked my interest in historical radio. I actually still have most of those.

Santa's arrived a day early!

These pages of scripts have been added to the Joe Hehn Memorial Collection at archive.org

Jack Armstrong [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Li'l Abner [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Lights Out [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Mark Trail [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Sky King [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Most all of them are for missing programs. The Lights Out are written by Charles Gussman after Oboler left the show. Gussman went on to have a multi-decade career in scriptwriting for radio and TV, and also wrote the year-long serial of Li'l Abner in consultation with creator Al Capp. He sent these scripts to Hehn in the 1960s.

Only one of the Jack Armstrong scripts is available as a recording according to RGI. Does anyone have it? It's #2539 1944-10-19.

Go to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] to see all the new posts at the top of the list. Between the Sky King scripts and the Whispering Streets episodes (new!) there is another episode of a popular kid's program that is brand new to circulation (but that's all that can be mentioned about it here). The episode was just verified as previously missing.

Enjoy!!
