The season being upon us, does anyone know where the best extant transfer of The Cinnamon Bear can be found? (Is it the RA one?)

I've got the RA copy, which I believe is the best copy around.

No luck on your requests I'm afraid Harlow, but thanks for the kind comment. It has indeed been a while.

Here's the only one I have. It's not one of my encodes, but is pretty good sound quality,

Yes I bought the Radioarchives copy too and it sounds fabulous compared to any other source I have ever heard. They had it on a good deal last Christmas, maybe they will do the same this year?

Re: Old Time Radio Show Requests
A few pages ago there was a request for the Towers of London Scarlet Pimpernel series. I love this series, it was a formative OTR experience for me and one of the first series I listened to both on cassette then later on MP3s, and now I wish it was available in higher quality.
Here is a link to a folder with FLAC recordings of 24 Scarlet Pimpernel episodes released on cassette in the UK by Hodder Headline in the 1990s.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
They are a big sound upgrade compared to the commonly circulating 32kbps set (in the OTRR Library and on [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] but they are trimmed of most preamble and announcements and generally just contain the body of the story. There is a big variation in running times of different episdes but I don't think anything of the story is lost, only music and announcements including most of the mid-episode commercial breaks and musical pick-ups.
The episode titles are as issued by Hodder and may have been specially made up as I haven't seen them anywhere else. The numbering and ordering matches the Archive set linked above with two exceptions
- The Archive/OTRR Library set has a duplicate of episode 2 in place of episode 21. Here is a FLAC of the true episode 21.
- The episode listed here as 7 is distributed as episode 32 "The Man in the Mask" in the Archive set. I believe that this FLAC is the true episode 7, and the Archive set has 7 & 32 the wrong way round.
Episode 7 'The False Pimpernel' in this FLAC set (distributed as episode 32 'The Man in the Mask' in the Archive set, Blakeney's introduction begins "It started with an ugly rumour from Marseilles") matches the newspaper listing for episode 7 quoted by Digital Deli for 52-08-12 on WIBA ("unscrupulous Englishman poses as the Pimpernel and almost kills him").
The episode distributed as #7 in the Archive set ('Sir Percy Impersonates Leclair', Blakeney's introduction begins "A summons from Lord Lowther, the Secretary for Foreign Affairs, always meant a prelude to action.") is clearly set later in the story. It seems to take place during the war that starts in episode 19, the Pimpernel's identity is not as secret as in earlier episodes, he and Bonaparte are already old enemies and Bonaparte's rank has increased since episodes 15-16 for example where he is a Lieutenant. It also seems to match the description for program #32 in the Radiogoldindex ("The Pimpernel is captured, jailed and tortured because of the treachery of 'the man in the mask'").
There may be more going on with episode numbering later in the series, but I do think that these FLAC file are in all probability the true first 24 episodes.

Thanks. Not sure what this is - it sounds like a clip from a German Lord Haw-Haw broadcast.
