Let's Try This Again
It's time to resurrect the Screening Room. Because we're multidimensional and stuff.

Ed Wood what a loon. Great work ethic just keep going. Actor dies use his dentist. Continuity... blah... who needs it.... what do we get the best movie to sit and shout at. So grand it got its own Seinfeld episode.

Bad Ol' Movies
Now what's wrong, with a movie that's so bad that it's accidentally entertainin'? I might just dedicate a month of Sundays just for that.
Re: The Cobalt Club Screening Room
Well the special effects are top notch so we have that.....

Classic Movies - OTR Related and some, not so much
Hi all,
Here's a site that many of you are probably aware of.
https://free-classic-movies.com/Actors-C.php
I have spent some time streaming/downloading the Hopalong Cassidy films in order but still have a ways to go. The site has some Gene Autry, Charlie Chan, Sherlock Holmes, Roy Rogers, Rin Tin Tin and many others.
Enjoy!
(Seamus, Space, Ghem, If this posting is not allowed, let me know and I will delete it. I haven't finished reviewing the rules yet to see what has changed.)

Holy Moley Bill. I could spend months on just the "J" page. No, I'd never heard of this page before. But I intend to spend considerable time explorin' it'
Thank's loads for the link.

Re: The Cobalt Club Screening Room
Hi all,
Here's another link with a smaller variety of movies. I don't spend a lot of time here but on occasion I find something that I haven't watched in a long time.
https://classiccinemaonline.com/
While the site does "push" viewers to buy the DVD, the movies are free.
Enjoy!!

Re: The Cobalt Club Screening Room
And here is one more site that is free.
Kanopy.com
Offers movies, documentaries and college courses. You have to have a library card to access the site and your library has to be part of the kanopy network. The other limitation is that you can only watch so many shows or hours per month (cannot remember how many). If you go to the site, you can browse the categories and specific titles without signing in.

Re: The Cobalt Club Screening Room
Just got a notice from Kanopy that the movie "Eight Grade" is now available.
Here's the promo and stay tuned for the ironic twist (at least in my mind).
Kanopy says, Elsie Fisher delivers a breakthrough performance as a shy eighth-grader struggling with social anxiety in this powerfully emotional coming-of-age story. In his directorial debut, Bo Burnham masterfully captures adolescent anguish in the age of social media and explores the awkward teenage years with heartfelt sincerity.
All of the reviews that I read indicated that this film is wonderful and should be seen by parents and middle schoolers.
The sad/ironic twist is that the film is rated R so middle schoolers could not see it on their own or with their friends in theaters.
Thank goodness for libraries...

And that pretty well summarizes my confusion of the current state of the world.
Re: The Cobalt Club Screening Room
I thought we should keep the Detective theme rollin' along. So this week we need some classic detective movies. And what's more classic than Charlie Chan? We'll make it a double feature and include both of the most popular Charlie Chan actors.
Charlie Chan in Shanghai - 1935
Starring: Warner Oland

OK, it's not a detective movie, but how often do Ya get James Cagney and Humphrey Bogart on screen together?

Re: The Cobalt Club Screening Room
While not video, some of this is OTR related. This site has a series of newspaper comics from the 40's and 50's. If you are a Superman Fan or Buck Rodgers or Annie, this site has some comics for you or at least, for me!

Again, I must confess that I do not remember who provided the link to me. If it was a member of the Club, please speak up and take credit.
I pull files from this site on a bi monthly basis as I have time and spend some time living in the past.
Whomever provided the link, I thank them heartily.
