Thanks otr head. Thought I should mention that the title should be "...Purchased Ostrich" instead of "Pruchased" if it matters. Both episodes link to the Ostrich one.

Being in Canada where we do Thanksgiving in October (since by November, it can be very cold and we don't feel too thankful), I was surprised to hear about the year of the two Thanksgivings during the show.

This bear is getting very aggressive. He broke the door down into our sunroom last night. I managed to make enough noise to scare it off, but I guess we'll have to complain to the forest service. I hate doing that because the forest service lost their budget to tranquilize and transport animals a few years back. Now they hire a professional hunter to kill the animals.

No joke today the bear situation is too serious.

Please tell me you have some bear spray, Tom. I'm assuming so because you said you used to hike a lot in the past.

Sadly, once they become emboldened like this, killing them can be the only solution. They've had to do it in the national parks by me because they've transported them hundreds of mile deeper into the wilderness and a few keep coming back. At least they can track them with tags so they know who the problem bears are.

Hi Gordon,

You have grizzly bears up there and they are much more aggressive than the black bears we have here. Also they are much bigger than the black bears.

I would still prefer living here than in the big cities where they have some really bad animals, lol. I spent my working career in the Los Angeles area.

Weather is still hot. July is the hottest month of the year here and August is the second hottest. Average about 101 for July and 98 for August. Fortunately, I and my arthritis enjoy the heat lol.

What’s the difference between ignorance and apathy? I don’t know and I don’t care.

Carolyn and I have been watching re-runs of Antiques Road Trip from the UK. We noticed that it rains about every other day. Where we live we get 12 to 15 days of rain a year so that much rains means I should start building a ARK. It does make for a beautiful green country side.
