I'm getting a decent queue built up in my "to share" folder so I think I will bump up to sharing 2 shows a day now.

First, I'll report just a little bad news I believe. I have been monitoring these streams to try to ensure completeness, but in this first show for today, I heard what seems to be editing on the part of the youtube account host because we seemed to jump from dialogue to music rather abruptly without a smooth transition. I have annotated edited in the filename. I suspect the other show today was also edited but am not positive. As I said I have tried to monitor these streams, but I also have reel tape going on another computer at the same time so I can't monitor both at the same time. Still, some of a show is better than none. I do hope that none of the other shows I have posted so far have this problem. These have been 15 minute shows for the most part as I can recall; I don't really understand the necessity to cut several minutes out of them but I'm not the account host. Anyway, on to the shows!

I will also throw in a bonus I actually meant to post yesterday, but got too bogged down with recordings, so we will get it today. I actually missed this disc the first time I was going through the collection it was in, but spotted it the second time when I was getting back to where I had left off. It is only the last song from a broadcast. The disc had WOR handwritten at the top of the disc with H Nocturn, Brooks Orch, 2/22/47, and 1230 handwritten on the label lines. Checking the New York Times listing for that date at midnight on WOR just shows news dance music so I don't know what the actual show may have been unless it was just a band remote and then we've got it right. The announcer in closing says the Randy Brooks Orchestra and this is the Mutual Broadcasting System! So, we only have one song from the broadcast.

The Cavalcade of 1955 was actually undated. I looked on the jjonz New York Times listing for the 560101 date and found it listed. It was a different radio station than WOR, which is the station on the transcription disc, so the date could possibly be subject to correction.

It was on WOR at 4:00 that day.

Thanks for that BobbyP. I hadn't really considered that WOR would let another radio station play it before they themselves played it, so since WMGM was listed at from 8-:30am I was only looking from that time and before up to several days prior. So, I hadn't looked at the later times that day.
