This is another case where the Suspense TV production was prior to the radio one. The 1953-06-02 TV broadcast kinescope likely has not survived.

Re: Suspense Upgrades
"Christmas Grace" with Frank Lovejoy originally planned for December 21, 1953, but they ran with 'Twas a Night Before Christmas one more time. The Fine & Friedkin "Christmas Grace" script was likely unproduced on Suspense, and possibly never produced on any program. Since Lovejoy was under contract to appear on the series, they slotted him a couple of weeks later into this classic Suspense script written by one-hit-wonder Walter Bazar. Is there any better way to celebrate the hopes and joys of a new year than with a story about two hysterical people lost in the country, trapped in their car in bad weather, worried that there's a homicidal maniac on the loose? Not in Suspense-land, there isn't!

Yesterday it was mentioned that Frank Lovejoy was originally planned to star in a special Suspense broadcast, but instead was rescheduled for the New Year and appeared in On a Country Road. Here are some newspaper clips... does this Fine & Friedkin story seem familiar as a possible performance heard on a different program?

Wikipedia has a summary of the tragic real-life events in Norway that began in Fall 1942, ending with a trial for the murders in 1947.

The actual pond is Skrikerudtjernet. See its size (seems more like a small lake) and remote location with Google Maps [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
You have to zoom out multiple times to get the feeling that it's a candidate for a "middle of nowhere" designation and why it would have been used in the cover-up.
This is another case of the radio program using a script that was used on Suspense TV. It was broadcast on 1953-10-21 with newscaster Quentin Reynolds as narrator; the kinescope has not survived. Other cast members included Frank Marth, Bart Bums, Herbert Rudley, Louis Sorin, Richard Bishop, Nina Hansen, Will Scholz, Carol Veazie, and Carl White.
This episode has not been updated for 10+ years. No AFRS recording has been found.

Re: Suspense Upgrades
Going through old reels of programs of the late 1960s/early 1970s period of this hobby, it's clear that this episode was in circulation at that time and had disc skips. No one, even from my most active time in the late 1970s and the early 1980s ever knew the program as having this defect. If you listen carefully to the patched version, it's one of the best "fixes" in OTR collecting history... whoever did it found a very close-sounding intact opening from another episode and patched it it. This is not a digital patch -- someone who knew what they were doing fixed this. If you listen closely, you can hear the fix that was made, and for its time in the hobby and the nature of tape recording, it has gone unnoticed for decades. This is different than so many of the patches that were done in the 1970s, with some of the YTJD patches of the openings of episodes with Mandel Kramer being the absolute worst (which I and others have been removing; the patches of the endings of reconstructed recordings often included wrong casts -- but those are gone from most recent sets). Patched fixes such as this should be noted somewhere, as is here, in the file name, at least among completists. Whichever recording is kept in one's collection is up to the individual collector... this is a hobby, after all!

Bertillion was the inventor of the "mug shot"!
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
His techniques were new and therefore crude, and he played a role in the unfortunate conviction of Alfred Dreyfus (the "Dreyfus Affair" [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Fingerprinting proved to be more reliable than some of Bertillion's techniques. His influence in the application of scientific processes to solving crimes is unmistakable. The success of programs like CSI: and the UK's Silent Witness are good examples of how far we have come, and how interesting the topic is to audiences.
